Telus Mobility rate plans suck ass
My cell phone contract is FINALLY ending and their new rate plans SUCK!
1) They took away free call forwarding and charge you for that now. 2) They moved the evenings free start time from 7pm to 8pm and charge you for that if you want to start talking at 6pm. 3) They charge by the minute instead of the second. FUCK! *sigh* I'd jump carriers in a heartbeat if I could keep my phone number that I've had for the last 7 years and sign on with someone else. |

since when has the after 7pm free thing been in effect for?
i recently signed up for a talk40 plan, and thought it was pretty good because it started after 6 with free evenings, but fuck that. now i'm stuck with this plan for a year. on the bright side, there is 'free' voice mail. |

Actually after reading this again. There is the extended evenings, which says that it starts at 6. But regular evenings is at 8pm. I'm not sure if i'm reading this correctly. <sigh> |

The "free" evenings start at 8pm now instead of the 7pm start they had which was moved from 6pm oh so long ago...
The 'extended' evenings are basically what I had years ago and they charge you an extra $5 for this privilege of being able to yak at 6pm. |

all the companies are doing this, which sucks. the same goes for all the rogers plans, every little service you have to pay for now. but once one does it, they all do since they can get away with it.
i was lucky, with my new cell i got onto one of the corporate plans (with bell) so it's a good fucking deal. if it wasn't for that i'd have a stupid plan which sucked. and that would make me sad. i've seen the new telus plans, my dad got all the info in the mail. they really do suck. my dad's not renewing, they want him on a 3 year contract! instead he's switching to pay as you go (since he hardly uses it) |

so wait...if when i started my plan it said that the free evenings started at 7pm that still appies until my plan runs up right? i don't have to worry about the 8pm thing until my plans is up?!?
and what's with this new voice mail thing? arg* i hate telus. as soon as my plans up i'm not going to have a cell anymore. PAIN IN THE ASS! pager it is! |

i got a msg on my phone saying that voice mail is changing in about 3 weeks from today....
and that's about all i know...? that's why i'm asking. apparently "to better serve the customer's needs" they've changed the way voicemail is... i also know that if you have a plan already with voicemail you have "one week after the new voicemail takes effect to change over your attributes without charge" if you wait longer then a week they are going to charge you?! like wtf...THEY'RE THE ONES CHANGING THE WAY IT ALL WORKS!!! fuck. i hate telus. |

I got the message.
All they are saying is that they are upgrading the VM system as PHUNK mentioned. The part about the charges are in relation to setting up your voicemail settings again. If you call within the week they mentioned it is a free call (only the first time!!) to reset your greeting, password, etc. After that set week if you call to make the changes you will be charged airtime. |
