too many production companies
well, maybe i don't know shit, but i kinda think that the reason why many parties end up being bunk, is cause there's too many parties; too many fuckin parties goin on at the same time, and not enough people goin... i was just tryin to find some info about spooky this year, trying to figure out whether to go to spooky or imf.. and i found out that 3 parties which all seem like they'll be pretty big are goin on that night, clash, dance of the dead, and spooky.. that's cool, i'm sure there's gonna be tonnes of people wanting to party seeing as how it's holloween.. but if only spooky was happening things would be so much better, everyone would be in one venue. you production companies should try to coordinate shit with each other... rythm nation and apex were on back to back weekends, and although some people like goin to huge parties 2 weekends in a row, many don't.. and i think that might have something to do with why rythm got fucked over. meh, was just thinkin.

simplify: you obviously don't know anything. just cuz (for example) spooky is the big party, doesn't mean everyone wants to go to it.
also there are't that many companies anymore. and it's called competition. not everyone likes seeing [insert local here] for the 9 millionth time. it's not as easy as 'company A calls company B' and it's no problem. dj's have schedules, venues have schedules, among other things. btw: plaza parties aren't the greatest thing since slice bread. not to knock spooky, which i will attend. just sayin, other peeps have other crowds/parties. |

I am the promoter from Apex, and also from Spooky.
I can see your point. But right now, there are about five different companies that can put on big shows.......five that can afford it. The scene is in a bit of a slump...... Apex had nothing to do with RN not making it, and vice versa..... The only reason Apex did, was cause it was a $10 show. As for Spooky, and two other events that night, that is cool. It makes me want to put on that much better of an event, and work that much harder to make you want to go. If you can't decide between IMF and Spooky, you shouldn't have much of a choice to make. They are two months a part. If money is an issue, CHEAP Spooky tickets are in stores now. Get them while you can. If it is that you don't like to party that much, and you want to go to just one, wait till the line up is announced, then make an informed decision. |

i see his point... his point isnt that theres too many production companies its that the events from all the companies are either on the same date or like a week apart.. and thats not good since the rave scene going down the shitter so less and less ppl are gonna attend both those parties than anticipated thus LESS money and production companies goin down the shitter

Man I remember weekends where there were like 2-3 parties on friday and the same on saturday.... the 'scene' as it were is so slow right now it's crazy.
I wouldn't agree that there aren't enough people to fill up 3 shows on Halloween either, or any weekend for that matter. The thing is that you have to make people WANT to go to the show because if you've been partying for any longer than 2 years or so you're not seeing anything that you haven't really seen before. It's all stuff that's been done.... and the kids are starting to get BORED! |

The problem is not that there's too many parties. Actually it's the other way around. The demand is not there like it used to be I remember a day when underground raves where sometimes 3 a week. We used to go from one to another throughout a night and then return to the one we liked the most. More people needed to make the shows more successful on a consistant level.
