just gotta learn to keep their self esteem and confidence down so they know that they cant have you. players can be some decent looking guys with a braindead personality, cocky, and confident.. thinking they can get any chick they wanted. as long as you convince them that you think they're ugly and you dont want them around you. they'll either avoid you or try harder, and you just keep dissing them. sooner or later they'll realize they arent hot shit and kill themself, or not....

Taken or gay??? Hey man, I resent that. I'm neither. I know that makes me sound cocky, but hey, it's true. I think it is the same way with women. All the quality ones are taken. I have to say that in all the possible prospects I have met in the last year, I'd have to say that a good 70% of them were quality and a good 90% of that 70% were spoken for. Not good odds, that's for sure, but I've learned that good things come to those who wait.

it's just a natural mechinisim. i used to do it all the time. then i got hurt one too many times... so i just backed off all together... then i ended up hurting people...

so i just gave up all together and got rid of all feelings. and then, someone great just landed in my lap.... that was cool. i am thankful

but still, i went thru years and years of players, and times of being somewhat of a player myself...

and erica, trust me, your time will come, just love yourself, put yourself first, and think like you can do whatever you want.

I can totally relate to all that you wrote. I went through a period of time when I completely shut myself off from the world. It wasn't necessarily just because of guys, but because of many things that all the hurt brought about. This summer, I admit that I had a shit load of fun. But now that it's over, all I'm left with is a total feeling of emptiness. Right now, I'm just planning on focusing on myself. The things I need to do to get where I want, as in school and work, spending time with good friends, etc. If a guy comes along, then he comes along...all I know is this time, I really want to take my time to get to know the other person before I jump into anything. Have a bit of a better idea of what I'm getting myself into. I'll never be sure, as there's always a "risk", but what fun is life without taking any risks? I definitely haven't lost faith in guys, just a bit dissapointed them. But I guess that's just a reality that I'll have to accept.

I've seen it personally, through my own experiences and through those of friends, and those 'hardcore players' can be the mushiest, sappiest, sweet guys underneath. It just takes someone special to uncover it. =0)

Yeah, I think being a player would suck. Even though they are having fun, I think at some point or another, they will start to feel empty.
