Working New Years Eve!
Alright, I work in a 24hr call centre so I've learned to deal working shitty hours and many weekends but this is too much. Around October they sent around a list and days people want to work in regards to stat holidays. Since its a 24/7 office we have to havesomeone there all the time. So they brought along this list and we had to choose 2/3 days that we are going to work.
Here are the days you get to choose from: 1)Christmas Day 2)New Years Day 3)Boxing Day I have to work 2/3 of those days. Crap! Thankfully with my family we do the Christmas celebrating on the 24th so it won't conflict with my family christmas. I decided I would work Christmas Day and Boxing Day and I'll take new years day off. I should also mention that I mainly work days shift and only ever so often am I forced to work evenings. I bet you can predict what happened. The crap-weasels decied to give me the late shift for the week of new years eve. There is a small good aspect to this little tale. They only booked me for working Boxing Day so I only had to work 1/3 days after all. Unfortunately the following week I'm working 4:00pm - 12:30am on New Years EVE!! This isn't the stat day so it isn't take into account my request. What the hell good is taking new year day off if I"m stuck working until 12:30am the night before?! *sigh* I don't know why I'm really so concerned about this. It really is just another day except you have a higher chance then average of getting alcohol poisoning. My last ditch effort which hasn't had any success is trying to swap my shift...which is next too impossible. Who would want to work those appalling hours? The current offer was the poor s.o.b that has to work Christmas Day and I'll swap with him. There must be someone that would rather spend time with their family on Christmas day then trying to beat their best keg stand time. That person just isn't me. Hopfully the straight across swap christmas day for new years eve will work for someone. If nothing happens the last week I'll throw an extra $20 in the deal. /end rant

i think i have to work christmas eve, christmas day, new years eve and new years day...at first i was pissed off..but now..i really don't care..i like $$~

finding out my boy works new years eve :n:... and prob through to the new years. huge :n: this doesnt help especially after watching that episode of the oc. ryan is the man :hurt:

i work graveyard that night. i dont think i even get paid time and a half because the hours are billed to the day that i start...1130pm new years eve. nye isnt a stat.
 plus i have to work with a high strung crazy woman all night. ill probably be making hella good tips though.

yea I got to work everyday this week except christmas
and I know Im gonna be doin over time on boxing day cause its gonna be absolutely crazy at future shop! oh well the money from the overtime work can buy my sanity back :kam:
