I just LOVE how the skytrain has been broken for the past 5 days. Makes getting to and from work SOOOO easy.
Yesterday they kicked everyone off the train at Columbia, where we had to go to the other platform and attempt to squeeze on a train running to surrey every 15 minutes. NO THANKS. I took a cab home. Today was a 45 minute wait at Scott Road, a bus ride to New West, and then finally getting on the train making me an hour late for work. And with all this going on, the Translink website reported the Skytrain "running normal". BULLSHIT. |

I know! rock on skytrain! I love how a 30 minute commute to work took 2 radical hours this morning! I loved waiting in the cold at Commercial Dr. station for 30 minutes and then being prodded into a stuffed train full of angry people! I loved the announcements that said there may be a delay for trains leaving surrey! FANTASTIC!
Not to mention that every day on my way to work anyways, the millenium line trains run every six mf minutes during rush hour! yay! so worth the 90 dollars I spend a month for a 2 zone transit pass. yay! yippie! The problem with that system is that they really have no proper contingency plan for any emergency situation whatsoever, other than to inconveneience its customers, be it winter weather, someone jumping on tracks, etc. |

I don't like the sound of the skytrain service. I'm planning on moving downtown at the beginning of March and I'm gonna want to skytrain to work in Surrey everyday... booo... hope this doesn't happen too often. Think I'll have to keep my car.

Not to mention the "next bus" thing. wts is that? 4 digit stop numbers? i put in my address and it wouldn't give me the stop across the street. apparently, from my addres i'm only allowed to travel to langley! i had to use a random address to get the stop number across the street. transit is shitty unless you live downtown, even then it's not perfect [obviously] skytrain fucks up quite often, but at least the busses usually run downtown [i haven't had many problems with those]. the bus i have to take to skytrain here, never comes. there are times where i've waited at the stop for an hour, for a bus that should come ever 20 minutes or so. i see about 5 busses go the opposite way, but none come. wts. there's always those few times too where the bus does come, and the bus drivers decides to be a prick and just drive right past you [when the bus is NOT full, is in service, and you aren't hard to miss!] yes, now i'm just rambling. anyways.. |

My two faves were the strike 2-3 years back "yeah Vancouver is nice and warm, whadd'ya say we just let the union stay on strike over the summer and make people walk everywhere...mebbe we can even put fareboxes at intersections so we still rake in the cash...U can charge a fare for walking, right?"..damn liberals
And, I forget how many years ago...6 mebbe?...when the union went on a one day wildcat strike over some dude that got suspended...like I really have the cash to blow on cab rides back and forth to work that would exceed my daily pay...not to mention the hour I stood waiting for busses that never came, wondering why none in either direction were anywhere to be seen...I f*cken wanted to send the union a bill for my expenses for that day, including my time...and they didn't even fine the unon if I recall correctly...damn ndp |

If you are tired of Translink lest do something
I agree Translink is a bitch if you don't live in Vancouver it is over priced , underserviced , unreliable and the worst is the only option . I believe competitors should be allowed specially in all the under-serviced areas and the transit dead zones like the frasser valley so I formed an open Facebook group to get ideas and political traction to be able to fight the monopoly check it out if you are tired if pay way too much for shit service the group is Translink bitches, complaints and funny stories
