My family and friends call me "Larry" , but when i moved here i thought it was time for a change. My licence and Social security card etc. all say "Lawrence".

For me "Larry" brings mental images of a plumber with his head under the counter (2 inches of asscrack showing out of the pants)

Lawrence sounds like an 80 year old british guy. I can't win. My parents had it in for me at birth. People tell me i look like a "kevin".

I've never thought about it like that... 80 year old british guy? damn. It's not the easiest name to say in loud environments and the silent w was a little confusing as kid as i could not explain why my name was the only one in the entire kindergarten class that had to deal with silent (or inexplicable extra) letters. And i dunno. 'Lawrence' isn't the easiest name to yell in a forest if lessay you were one day lost... in said forest. :^) ionno
