heartbreaking day at school.

i think i left my sketchbook in one of my class room or cafeteria on thursday, had no time at all to go pick it up over the weekend (i actually reliezed i lost it monday nite when i was packing my bag). went to school nice and early to search all the classrooms.. went to the office and i saw it sitting in a paper box. i asked the secretary for it..she handed it to me.. i saw the pencil marks i left on the cover.. but but but...all the pages were torn out! i asked why it was torn out and the secretary said it was for security reasons.. so ppl dont claim the sketchbooks.

i had tons of pencil sketches, art gallery notes, lecture notes, some tags, and most importantly...ALL MY KISS DESIGN WORK in there. =( worst part was that the lady told me my name must have no been in there..and i swear i did a doodle with "bev's sketchy book"... oh so heartbroken. now all my work is in the dump.. and a lot of my midterm assignments are gone (which are due this week).. and my brainstorming stuff for kiss is alllll goneee. (it was a very important sketchbook for my portfolio this year).

there is still some tiny hope that it wasn't my sketchbook.. but im 90% sure it is.. still have to come to realization. so upset.

it was my partner in crime..i took it with me everywhere..

i go to an art school too.. u'd think they would understand how important they are. IT WAS THERE FOR A WEEKEND FOR FUCK SAKES.

I d make some big complaints to the school about this, this is desctruction of personal property, there are lots of other ways for them to determine wether or not the sketch book is yours or not, I ve played the annoying endless game of 20 questions to get my stuff back in the past.

At the very least I d demand they replace the sketchbook or something. Dont let them just get away with this

i duno where to start.. im gonna talk to the foundation head lady tmrw..and ask her what to do abuot my assignments. i had a "one drawing a day" project for my drawing midterm.. there is no way i can catch up in 2 days.

i dont care about that though.. the kiss stuff i worked freakin hard on.. and it showed really awesome progress throughout. blah.. so disappointed.

dude i would be crushed if my sketchbook endured that. it really doesnt leave my side. at least one of my books is beside my pillow at night, and one is always with me.

girl, i feel for you. i would still be crying if i was you, and it totally is not right for them to tear out the pages. we leave shit all over the place in our studio, and nothing drastic is ever done like that. our teachers may hide it from us so we learn our lesson but thats about it.

you'd think theyd at least keep the pages fro you....

i had like fucking countless sketches of graff ive seen or ideas i got for different styles...all on a train in europe, gone in that one stop
so i bought a new one but the old one will never be replaced :(

trust me it hurt..i went back to the secretary asking them anywhere they would have dumped the pages..no one knew. yea.. started the morning with some great tears. still doesn't make sense in how they can do such thing.. im relaly confused about it all still. ill see what happens tmrw. karma or something.

i do have 3 sketchbooks that i rotate around..but sometimes u just grow to like one so much that u work on it til u fill up all the pages. this one i had a passion for.. i guess ill resort to the next one in line.

If I lost any of my sketch books I'm totally cry. I don't really use them as much anymore but that's not the point. I almost lost one at a restaurant once... just left it sitting there. Thankfully when I went running back like three hours later it was still there... they'd all been looking at it and commented on how good my work was but it made me feel a little violated in a way. Like I let people look at my books and I totally don't care but I dunno someone just randomly looking through it makes me feel funny.

Poo... I give you internet lovin and schtuffs.

yea. if i lost one of my sketchbooks, i would shrivel up and die, i think.

a few months ago i thought I lost one of my photography portfolios and i started to hyperventilate. no joke. I thought i was going to faint but then someone found it in the most random of places and brought it back to me. A few prints were missing from it but i still managed to get a peice of my soul back that day.

I'm hoping ,in some weird twist of events, it shows up Bev. you never know.

i guess i can understand why they would tear the pages out...just to "protect" the artist's work so somebody doesn't find it and claim it as their own and submit it. but i feel your pain girly...if i lost mine and the pages were torn out, etc, i would feel crushed. <3 hopefully everything with your assignments work out though. get yourself a super nice pretty new sketchbook to start out fresh. i know that it's nowhere near the same but TRY to make something positive out of it. :(

That sucks alot if that happened to me i would be pissed off for a long long time i have alotta memories in my sketch book. Alotta old sketches from when i first started painting plus sketches by writers who don't even live in this city any more.
