Is there a certain time of the year you need to get allergy shots?
I keep forgetting to find out about them so I can start myself on them. My allergies haven't started yet either, they are alot better ever since I stopped eating dairy. But they'll be around sooner or later, and they sure pack a punch! |

does that have anything to do with when you are supposed to get an allergy shot? Do you know anything about allergy shots?? I'd better not just "hope" I dont get bad allergies, butr thanks for the uh.. input.
And yeah fuck.. I might be deadly allergic to bees (as I am celery and dandilions.. go figure) so I'll be avoiding those bees as well as I can. |

yeah ive been getting allergy shots since last september and im not getting the sneezing or itchy throats... my eyes get itchy but the eyedrops my doctor has been giving me are really helping
spankme, you'd usually start the allergy shots AFTER the season's over... im not sure why, but thats what my doctor said they do in most cases |

I'm not exactly sure how allergy shots work, but if it's anything like flu shots, this is why you'd take it AFTER allergy season.
see, when you're getting a shot, you're getting an inoculation. for example with a flu shit, it's like giving your body a very weak dose of the flu.. then your body can raise it's immune system and fight it off so when flu season comes around, it'll be able to recognize it and be more resistant to it. so because of that, it doesn't make sense to give yourself a flu shot DURING flu season because you'd be getting a weak version of the flu but then EXPOSING yourself to even more flu viruses.. how's your body supposed to fight it off right? anyways.. I hope that explanation helped. --Joanne :P |

No need to double up on anything. People should be taking Benedryl for allergies. When people come into the Emerg. room at the hospital w/ severe allergic reaction, they always get a shot of benedryl.; if still concious. Failing that, adreneline into the heart, just like Pulp Fiction.
