overbearing mothers

Thankfully, my mother realized I was an adult and needed to really experience and learn about the real world..

But seriously, I see these mothers (and sometimes both parents) that just cling onto their adult children for dear life, insisting to take care of each and every thing for them- things that their adult children are more than capable of doing!

Seriously, these parents will just create a generation of people who just have no fucking clue.

I hate people who are like 20-25 and still live with mommy who buys their clothes, food, pays for school, rent.

If my mother had her way, I would still be living at home.... She was one of those people that never wanted her children to leave..

Best decision of my life was to move out as soon as I turned 18.

Nah, helping out your child when they're still in school and can't really afford the time to get a job and support themselves is totally one thing..

I'm talking about after that point, and I'm talking about when they're out of school, even with jobs..and even in their mid 30s! I work for the government and I see TONS of glaring examples of it constantly and it just appauls me, people at some point have to learn to deal with their own shit.

Yup yup, I support the 'living w/ parents while you're in school' thing 100%
I think there is no reason just because a child turns 19 that they should move out or pay rent if they are in school

BUT MYRA.....i used ot get moms all the time phoning in for their 30 year old sons, never daughters...and they were always so shocked i couldn't give them info. -- BUT HE"S MY SON!!

yes, that he may be, but Mrs Johnson, Matty is also 30 years old making him legally and adult, and that means his finacial information is private and protected by the law - even from family members.....

*sigh*

lol I remember someone in my office dealing with this situation where there son booked a trip to whistler but didn't really understand all the policies. They were trying to put it off as he was just a foolish kid that couldnt handle it so they wanted to cancel and get a refund since he was confused or whatever. The "kid" turned out to be like 28 or something. Like give me a break. Your dad is calling in to bail you out acting like you couldnt handle a trip booking.

I get everything for free, and you expect me to turn it down on principle? Fuck that.

it can sometimes be a cultural thing. and in return, these parents expect their kids to take care of them when they are old.

my mom tries to be like that. when I had my wisdon teeth pulled out, she tried to mush up my vegetables in my soup. FOR FUCK'S SAKES, I CAN MUSH MY OWN VEGETABLES.
