stubborn boss
I appreciate my boss and how trying her job can be...
with that in mind, she's still fairly new in her position and I think she has a lot of learning to do. Each day we get a printout of how much we got done the day before, so we can keep track of how much we're doing and if we're hitting our personal/group targets. I'm personally a big fan of this as I like constant feedback (I don't just like being told how much I'm doing when there's a problem, y'know?) up to this point, a lot of people have appreciated this feedback. Well today, we get our printouts and everybody notices that there is something very wrong with our numbers. We're all off by maybe 10-20 units, which is a big deal. This makes it look like the whole team didn't work hard enough yesterday, which is tough because we're under a ton of criticism constantly when the team doesn't get the numbers. There's about 20 of us, and 20 of us off by about 10 makes a difference of 200- that is A LOT. I figure I should bring this up because I know for fact we all worked very hard yesterday. I go my bosses desk and tell her these numbers are wrong for myself and everybody else. She just rolls her eyes at me, tells me that it's from the computer, and I tell her that perhaps there's an internal problem that should be looked into, which just gets scoffed at like I'm totally insane. I explain to her why this is probably important, but I get not even an inkling of hope this will be looked into. What do I get instead? A scolding look and a remark that she can see about half an inch of my midriff (it's casual friday?). Usually, we see eye to eye, but this is seriously pissing me off. |
