fuck, i had to go to like four different safeways before i found one that still had one zone bus passes.

is it so hard for translink to keep the bus passes stocked?

i agree. this one zone crap is stupid.

they make you scratch off the zone you'll be travelling in, so you can only use it for that area. so i can only use my bus pass in the downtown and surrounding vancouver area in the peak hours.

off-peak hours though you can use it to go across any zone.

do they offer upass in summer...i actually dont know shit about upass or even how to get it even though im a ubc student.

Yeah, I love doing the buspass chase every month! I always forget it's the first of the month and then it's even hard for me to find a 2 zone pass anywhere

and the zone system is kind of silly, I travel to burnaby every day for work, and it's actually quicker for me to get there than UBC, but I have to pay about 30 dollars more because I'm crossing a zone boundary? F that


just be lucky you're not still in white rock, those 120 dollar 3 zone passes suck.

Sean: yeah i have the Upass, but only during the school term. they don't have a summer Upass yet, but i think they are trying to get it for next year. and you don't have to do anything to get the Upass, you already have it if you go to UBC because it's automatically included in your student fees, you just need to go and pick it up.

I use a 2 zone and I'm one damn zone out of the boundary! Ridiculous.
I refuse to scratch it too. I'm getting my 3 zones worth whether they like it or not!

The bus drivers don't caarrreee. I'll flash my pass and they never check the zone scratchy thingy. It's the skytrain people that throw a hissy fit.
One time she made me scratch it, and there was NO zone 2/3 underneath it! Then she thought I had a FAKE BUS PASS. lol

haha they busted me once and they made me get off the skytrain to pay the extra buck.

They should get rid of the whole trust stystem and just put in turnstyles.

knowing that it would proabbly take them atleast five years to pay it off..turnstills are expensive, and knowing that translink is a government buracry theyll probably end up spending double what it would cost for someoen else to do it.

the whole thing is just silly. its like they developed the whole transit line and forgot about installing an effective payment system so they just tossed a few machines in and *hoped* people wouldn't figure out that they didn't actually have to pay.
