Nazi Library Rent-A-Cops
It was approximately 530 in the evening, a bright humid day, scorching in the blistering sun. Having got off work at 330, i decided to further my personal campaign in the battle against illiteracy, a trying task. Unbeknownst to myself at the time was the fact the library closes early on a friday.
I was looking up some Ayn Rand, as recommended by Myra, when i was approached by a tall, somewhat lanky male specimen wearing a blue and black jacket as seen by rent-a-cops around the city. "Libraries closed, you'll have to leave" in a somewhat aggresively authoritarian tone of voice. "I'll be two minutes", in the process of searching for the desired book. "You'll have to leave now", putting his hand on my shoulder not all too kindly. I left, no books in hand, not wanting to create a fruitless scene. Long story short, he was rude, condescending and very much on a power trip. From a library rent-a-cop. blah. respect |

I had a buddy in university who was approached by a "campus cowboy" aka "rent a cop" one night coming home from the Pit Pub. Hammered, as was normal for him, he was a bit too loud for campus appearantly, so the campus cowboy grabbed his arm to stop his tyrade. Little did he know, he was grabbing a Newfoundlanders arm, slightly startling him, and resulting in a decisive right hook to his jaw. Poor rent-a-cop dropped like a "net of squirming cod" and our boy took off. RCMP said they were investigating, but you and I know that they probably laughed at the incident through mouths full of donuts and cheap coffee.
The moral of the story: rent-a-cops have no ability to forcibly do anything to you - and while I don't recommending feeding them knuckles - you should have taken your two minutes while he called for his supervisor. |
