my thoughts on whining
This comment was very stupid: "this voting is obviously fixed and has nothing to do with skill"
I really like it that certain trance dj's are in these dj idol posts, whinning, bitching and saying its "unfair" but you know what.. while you're getting drunk with your hip-hop posse, im at home spinning records. Sure, some of my mixes arent uber sexy. But i know how to pick a track, i know where it should go into a mix. I incorporate different genres into some mixes. here's a popular story for you.. I used to spin records at bootlegger.. Dont worry they paid me. I got used to spinning infront of people, I once made a 5 hour mix, no stopping it was the best mix i've ever done and it was all trance. (they had cd decks as well as techs.. and a rad djm500) while i was working there i started playing different styles of music.. I was playing dnb at one point on cds (no way im paying money for records) call me lame.. and then fuck off. Congrats dsl-dude on having a stage at Apex! |

you know.. i can honestly say that trance is the hardest genre to spin.
after playing for 2 years. I figured i should expand my musical horizons and start spinning other stuff. So i got into hhc, i've played around with ninjaboy's freeform. that stuff is hella easy. the only part i hate about spinning hhc is the ambience at the start of the track. 'tis all about freeform. No bullshit. i really like dnb to spin. Its a challenge. I'm not an EQ junkie, but when im playing dnb i'm twistin' those knobs like no ones business. |
