i used to be like that...just gave people rides ...never got a thank you or any gas money..etc etc

and then one day i fucking woke up and got mad.

you really gotta stick up for yourself, or this will never ever stop.

there may be some people that are gonna get mad at you for it...but you know what? they're probably the same people that were taking advantage of you in the first place, and some of them arent worth having around.

the others will realize hopefulyl that they were talking advantage of you and will stop it.

you really really cant let people take advantage of you forever...where is it gonna stop?

it doesnt mean you stop being nice though, go ahead be nice...but get some guts and some attitude and if you give someone a ride and they dont say thank you...then turn around and say "ya you're welcome"....they may not even realize that they didnt say it...and even something as small as that may make them realize that whoops...next time i should say thank you.

This falls under the whole "Nice guys always seem to finish last" category.

There's being nice, and there's being a chump. They're different things. Being a chump means just letting yourself get hurt so that others can feel better. I did enough of that in High School.

I have been in ur situation before...MILLIONS of times and the best thing you can do with this is just learn from it. If you hang around with people who you know are gonna take advantage of you then just walk away and not hang with them anymore...or dont give people things anymore. If they backstab you then you know what kind of person they are and they are NO GOOD! so my advice is to take what has happened to you and learn from it so you can prevent it from happening or you can just turn agro on everyone and be called a bitch :) like me sometimes :p LOL

You can be as nice as you want, all you got to learn though, is to not take any bullsh-t. Be just as nice, but let them know that you expect something back once and a while. Don't be a pushover.

i usually dont take people for granted but there is a difference between being nice and being a pushover. If someone is demanding something of you that you just dont wanna do tell them.
