It also got broken into a few weeks ago and they striped the steering collem hose with a screw driver... they can't fix that because my cars a 71' and that part is REALLY hard to find.
"i can't believe someone would be so stupid, to try to take a bright orange car, with a flat tire" - said the man who works there They are the top VW place in all of B.C. one of the only but i do think they should take it back and fix it for free... cuz they oviously fucked up somewere |

71 - that's pretty old. I had a 68 Beetle for a while.
If you are looking for another place and willing to drive, try Buny's N' Bugs in Chilliwack - old VW specialist, 604-795-2869, they fixed my '80 a couple of times, reasonable prices. But they are not air care certified. 44344 Yale Road West (other side of highway from red barns where Spooky was last year). |

Bummer
I would probably try and get your money back and if you can't I would sue them. I mean you have reasonable cause to expect the car to work for more than 20 minutes for $1500. I would tell them that your going to take them to court and watch them be all like, "Let's take another look at that car, son."
Yep you have legal stock on this man, I am a law student and your looking at winning. |

It may or may not be the shop's responsibility if your car conks out after leaving the shop. They might have fixed part A, and then you drive away and part B stops working. You can't really demand that they fix part B for free, if that is the case, but maybe you could if it was part A.
What repair work did they do for $1500? |

Judges love unwritten contracts, it gives them a sense of power when they award victims.
Sure part B may have malfunctioned, but they should never have fixed Part A if they new Part B was going to fail immediatly upon completion on Part A. The contract was for a working car=$1500 not a 20 min. ride. They are responsible to see that your satisfied with the work completed. You may not get all your money back, but you should see $1000 returned if you go to small claims. Not to mention all the bad publicity that this shop will recieve. In the future try to get a car 1980's+, the vintage cars are a pain in the ass cause all the hoses are fried and the compression is usually critical. The law states that your entitled to a working car after paying for it fixed. Unless you signed a waiver, you have a real good chance in court. N8 |
