(I'm just trying to look cool) I agree with Gary btw I also think we all should be working togethor not against eachother That's how the rave scene would work best and that's how the best parties would be thrown and that's how promoters would make the most money! Everyone wins Now with people working against eachother it just creates losers. Each party will lose people. And Partiers will lose because they not only miss the other party, if they think both are great but each party will not be at the level it could be if it were a guaranteed sell out. |

I still don't get it why people are saying it wrong for doom's night... if it's wrong for them to have a party then it's the same rules for Spooky. And don't give me that we where here first shit, because Spooky was not the first Halloween party in the city. Spooky's and Doom's main point is to make money. So no one is right,,, and no one is wrong. It's just business. so stop yer' wine'n people.
Also what's this crap about working together... Why would some one even sugest Spooky the establish party give up a slice of the pie to some big-shot kids? That would be like MacDonald's handing over part of their 99billion served to Arbys. Also if collaboration between promoters did not work 2000-2001 it's not going to work suddenly to day. Personally the best Halloween party last year was done by the Burning man community of Vancouver/Seattle. Hands down it rocked. |

I think people have to get over the notion that bigger is always better, its just not true. I like them both, but as long as production companies aren't over ambitious and the venues are sized properly there is no reason why both these parties can't be good, and I don't care what anyone says, nobody wins without choice, don't fuck with my free market.

theres too much ego on both side of that scale for anything to work even if the grand finale thing didnt happen. each side would want to be in full control, thus pissing of the other side and pushing them farther apart. |

Of course they'll never work togethor, as in throwing a party. However I do believe that promoters in the city should work togethor on picking dates earlier in the year so they don't overlap. Negotiations could happen. If one company has been doing 2 Holidays, they could comprimise and give up one of them. And Not fight about it. There's lots out there for everybody and if we all learned to share, and have Win/Win situations things will always work better I agree with Crazy Dave in theory, however there's a lot more to the puzzle which he just doesn't know. I know him pretty well, If he had all the facts I'm sure he'd change his mind on this one. Competition is healthy. However in a close knit scene like the Vancouver rave scene it would actually be better to work out deals and help eachother out. Of course that's easier said than done and at this point, wishful thinking |
