VISA= Very Intense Shopping Addictions
It's probably for the better that you were rejected. Credit cards are one of the easiest and fastest ways to put yourself in debt. I don't think I will ever apply for a credit card just to be on the safe side; no cash, no buy. |

you have to be the age of majority (uhh, that's 19) to get a credit card of any kind; the only leeway to that is getting a joint one with your parents, which doesn't build up your own credit (but might ruin theirs, har har) so there's really no use to it unless your parents pay for every little thing you buy.

Like Anya says, you are supposed to be the legal age of majority, however I've had numerous friend who have gotten cards underage, whom only applied on campuses/at malls etc to get the free gift -- yet have still received their cards in the mail.

^ exactly.
i've known a few people to get them at 18, but they were always student cards through universities pretty much. i guess they make a bit of an expection then? i'm not sure. i just applied for a card a few days ago. i hope i get it. i don't want to spend much, but it would be convenient for things (like having my cell in my own name, not my dad's) |
