table manners (part 2 or 3 or 4...?)
ehhh... i'm always bitching about the way other ppl eat around me...
so OF COURSE, christmas dinner with all the relatives... i can't even stand the way my immediate family eats, let alone the rest of the family tree... well, some of them are ok. but this year i got stuck sitting next to one of my uncles who i don't really like in the first place... buddy was woofing his food down like it was going out of style... and the thing that really got me (and i actually burst out laughing when the thought came to mind), was that he was panting like an asthmatic kid in a sauna... he wasn't even stopping to BREATHE! he just kept stuffing it in there.. turkey turkey potato stuff stuff stuffing beer beer beeeeeer... so he finally runs out of food, and swear his heart was racing at like 321429687bpm. i've never actually seen anyone lose their breath from eating... not to mention he was chomping and spitting all over the place... gluttons... and i dunno how many times i have to say it, but the fork is not edible, it is not a toothbrush, and it DOES NOT make a pretty noise when you bite on it, or scrape it on your teeth. why do so many ppl do this!?! i accidently did it once and it was the WORST feeling in my mouth, worse than dentist drilling or running your nails down a chalkboard... *shudder*... what i really don't understand is that this guy is pretty well off, he goes out to nice restaurants and stuff... don't table manners come with the meal at fancy places!?! jeez... i spent most my life eating dinner in my room in my underwear, but at least i know how to present myself at a formal dinner... AND THE FOOD ISN'T GOING ANYWHERE! it'll still be there if you stop for a few seconds to chew what's in your mouth! I HATE PEOPLE! |

AHHHHHH!
Bob, table manners are one of my biggest pet peeves! Elbows OFF the table! Use the correct forks! Unfold your napkin and lay it on your lap - - now! Sip your beverages, don't slurp. Same goes for soups. Salads and appetizers are meant to be eaten FIRST. Chew with your freaking mouth closed. Don't stick your own knife in the butter. Use the butter knife. Try not to spill all over the table and yourself. Gawd I could go on and on! The worst is when they lean over their plates! gawd! I just wanna strap them into their chair so they can't hover! sooooooo annoying! grrrr... |

cubed i donno about you but we're in canada. it's OK in a noodle house, but at mcdonalds!?! it is NOT OK to slurp your burger... come on!
it's also customary in japan to wash your hands BEFORE you go to the washroom. so make sure you ask your chef to remember that before he cooks ur meal. :) wow natalie is pretty nazi about this, ahahaha... i'm not that preppy about table manners... i just think some people should have a little more self control... but yes, the hovering thing ahahaha ... |

my uncle and great uncle are like pretty fat..like they have the beer bellies and all...and they get sooo drunk. and they eat like 3 plates FULL of food. they burp, the yell with food in they're mouths, elbows on the table....the works... :021: oh my god and my great uncle sits at teh table like 30 min BEFORE we start eating...and takes out his knife and fork and bangs them on the table saying "we want food...wewant food!" chanting of like 30 min...until i go over there and tell him to STOP! it's a disgrace! :039: |
