Breath in for 10 seconds through your mouth, then hold your breath for 10 seconds. Finally, exhale through your mouth for 20 seconds. Hope that helps..

I learned a breathing technique in yoga (I'm groggy and forgetting the name right now) but it has a similar principle. You plug one nostril and breath in for 4 counts, then hold the breath for 4 counts and then release the breath out the opposite nostril for 8 counts. Then breathe 4 counts in that same nostril you just reeased the breath from, hold for 4 and breath out the opposite nostril for 8. U should calm yourelf by doing this, not pass out. My instructor said it helps settle u for sleeping and I have used it a few times myself. I'm not sure if I described this well - it may be better with an in-person demo. At any rate, controlling your breathing and focusing on it is a body-calming strategy no matter how u do it (with the exception of repeated quick, shallow breathes).
I woke up lots in the night last night and Matt said I was tossing and turning a ton. I attriubte that to the scary movie! Thanks for the passes to Darkness, Mikey! Scary stuff. I nearly broke Matt's hand!
