My Supervisor @#$%
If the rest of the office can drive to work in the snow, SO CAN YOU!
Apparently she thinks that her street is the only street in the lower mainland that they do not salt and sand. Also, apparently driving from Commercial St to Richmond has more hills and is more dangerous than coming from North Burnaby, New West, Langley AND North Vancouver! riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight Next time it snows, I'm calling in "snow". UGH! I could use a day off! |

I miss working dt. They used to call me and tell me to stay home.
Since everyone else who worked there walked to work...why risk it? Ok...sure. But this snow? This is nothing. When I loved in Alberta (ya don't remind me) it would be 40 below, and there would be too much snow to drive...BUT we'd still be at school. |

the simple solution to this, is to spend $10 on salt @ Cdn Tire, find out where she lives, salt the 10m from her car to the road (for added effect heavily salt her CAR). Then when she phones in as is like "omg! like... .snow!.... and like... no salt!" you can be all "BITCH I KNOW IT'S SALTED CAUSE I DID IT LAST NIGHT! GETCHO BITCH-ASS INTO WORK BEFORE I SLAP YOU SOME!"

it's obvious the reason is that she knows someone who lives in the same city as her that she ripped off 3.1324 years ago and doesn't want to bump in to them because theres a higher chance of bumping into enemies in the snow... maybe that's the reason? |

I think with the amount of snow weve had its not a bad idea to maybe cancel work? Us Vancouver peeps dont take good to snow as were even lucky to get any at all in one year.
Another factor to take in is how alot of the snow is melting on the roads... yet the tepetures are still low enough for possible icey cond's. Alot of it depends on where you live and what kind of vehicle you drive or even your driving experience? I wouldnt rely on the buss's either. Ive already seen enough busses getting stuck and stalling. Reminder we had a blizzard warning for today... and in a couple of hours my area went from fine to a good couple of inches and scarey road condistions before the evning rush hour. |

^Deff not the greatest idea in our area. My dad drives a 4X4 and has been super hesatant to let me drive at all the past week... especialy when it reaches -1. Even today alot of our roads are shere ice after the top of the snow melted and is now frozen again. Its not so much the snow, but the ice. It could get even worse as after all these snow melts its supose to get really cold in the next few days!

^ North Van =/= Commercial Drive
I drove from New West which got hit waaaaaaay worse than Vancouver, and I have to travel down waaaaaay more hills than my boss. Anyhow my point was that her making excuses was fucking hurting. She said that taking the bus would have taken 3+ hours, LIAR. She lives right beside the skytrain, which goes to 22nd St Stn, which connects to the 410, which stops right outside our work. I even know that and I haven't taken the bus in almost 4 years! |
