I noticed there was a white van or large suv parked beside you. I was thinking to myself, how the hell did someone break the window and not notice. My only logical explanation at the time was flying debris from skytrain.

That blows!!! Some sneaky fuckers broke into my car two years ago @ Mirage when I was parked on a side street. They popped out my lock and went thru my stuff, took my change of clothes that was hidden (including a wrapped present for my friend) and ONE of my credit cards... I know, stupid to leave my wallet in the car *smacks forhead* And put the lock back in. I wouldn't have noticed except I went to change into my other clothes and they weren't there... I cancelled ALL my credit cards. And lost a RDS hoodie, pair of jeans, a belt, a shirt, a nice bra and my friends bday present (a framed pic of me n her). LAME... They hit up a buncha cars along that road that night. ARGH! So strategic tho... They took clothes and a credit card, but not my cds or my sub/amp... And they covered everything back up so I wouldn't notice. Hope everything works out for you bud. I know how harsh it is...

Yep, you have to staight up lie to ICBC. I always screw my holes in after the break-in or get a receipt from a friend. These are things you learn from experience, as my car has been vandalised, stolen, and broken into nearly 10 times!!! Vancouver is full of classless theives, They usually are those guys carrying pop bottles, they get sick of carrying trash and they see your car as a quick meal, I say if you see someone doing it to your car or someone elses, you should beat them within inches of their pathetic lives. Sorry your in such a bad place now man, try and focus on the fact that you will recover from this, instead of the fact that you could have gone to Hawaii for the winter on the money this has cost you.
