you wrote a shitty paper at the begininng of the year, then half way through the year you actually write a good one...and shes accusing you of cheating? Thats basically like her undermining her own teaching skills, and the ability of her students. what a cunt, take it to the dean! |

I guess it really comes down to where u are going to school. In highschool it is easy enough to voice your outrage... just get down to the principle's office and make him give the paper to another english prof for grading.
In uni... it's tougher but no impossible. First, she has to outright accuse you of plagerism (this doesn't happen often because they really need rock solid proof or they look like idiots in front of the board when they try you). If she doesn't follow up with a complaint to the faculty administration... then you are within your legal rights to go up and over her head and make a formal complaint yourself. In either case... she's gotta have proof (from what i see she has her head up her ass). Easy way to resolve it, is to rewrite the paper on a different topic that still focuses on religion... it will gague your understanding of the topic (proving you didn't get someone else to write it) and it will show your talent as a writer (proving you didn't just copy/paste). Hope that helps Fight the man, Snaps PS - if that doesn't work get your mom in their to eat her alive ^_^ |

definately file a complaint.
if you're stuck with her and want to make sure this doesn't affect your grade, ask her to put it through Turn It In (your school has that, right?) it'll prove it wasn't copied from an outside source. if the problem is that she thinks you got someone else to write it, ask to write a short piece in class in front of her to showcase your skills and prove you're capable of good work. it'll be a hassle but at least she'll end up believing you. |

I had the same thing happen in my first year! I was in advanced placement English Lit 11 and 12, in my last year of highschool I had a wicked teacher. I was all psyched for my first big Lit102 class: Our first assignment we had to write a paper on an Old English passage by Jeffrey Chaucer and express our personal opinions on the rhythm and styles used in the passage and within time period. I had JUST finished writing a final paper in grade 12 about Chaucer's "Pilgremage" stories, so the paper was a breeeze. Handed it it in, and two days later, she called me at home and requested time for a meeting. Unfortunately the prof didn't believe that all of this information came from my own words and knowledge. She forced me to sit in her office for 2 hours and I was interrogated like a child. It was SO embarassing because I really DID know alot about the subject - she forced me to "dull-down" my paper into something more basic, and she made me FIND sources in the library, then use those as citings for my paper. It was really discouraging for one of my first University experiences :\
Good luck with everything! |

The best thing you can do right now is either type or write her a letter stating that this isn't true. give her your facts and let her know how passionate or dedicated you are to the subject. Tell her that you can't judge a student's term by reading one paper.
if she ignores the letter then speak with administration. |

lithe: i think that's pretty much the crux of the issue. she's comparing my in class work summary (which was shitty because I missed the tutorial, and I really had no idea how to do it) with a subject that I could do totally freestyle.
Missy Chriss: wow, that sucks. Although I asked for a sit down with my prof to talk about my paper to show I know what I'm talking about, but she even refuses to do that. Anywho, I get to talk to her again on Monday. Thanx for the tips :) |
