Forecast

Sunny and cool tomorrow, dry and 10+ degrees for most of the week to come.

Honestly, you'd think we were snowed in or something.

Oh it is. It's fucking insane. I've posted about that before. Just not particularly right now.

Apparently Jaques Rogge, head of the International Olympic Comittee, toured a snowless Whistler last week and claimed he was "not worried" about the complete lack of winter conditions. He said "This is just one year, I'm sure in 2010 there will be snow!"

*cough* let's not tell him about the winter of 2002-03.

Our attempts to guess what's going to happen in the future, especially when it comes to weather, seem to be pretty feeble at best.

I keep hearing about how it's supposed to get warmer at winter, but honestly, 2.3 snowfalls per year is about standard for us.

I think we're just getting better at measuring the weather, and as such we're noticing trends where they aren't necessarily there. Or that the world is ever growing and changing. Frankly, I don't buy that global warming is anything other than the product of the fact that we're still pulling out of an ice age fer chrissakes.

Maybe i have too much faith in humanity.... lord knows I shouldn't... but I haven't noticed it getting any colder/hotter myself...

The western part of north america is in a severe drought, and it's happened quite a few times in the last 500 years. Just something to think about.
