ew...ew...ew...
Okay I hade the bottum part of my belly button pirced as well as the top and my body regected the bottum belly ring so I took it out like 6 or 7 months ago and I thought it had healed.
Well today I learned that it has not healed at all...it had started to bug me so I was cleaning it thinking maybe my other belly ring was bugging it. so I cleaned it and to my suprise it started pussing and there looked like a scab was inside the hole. Then the black thing which was a scab came of and it started to puss more...so I mean what the hell is up with this...you'd think after 6 months it be grown over and woulnd't be pussing anymore, it's so nasty I really dont like it! has this ever happened to anyone else with any peircings? you take it out and after a while it's still pussing and shit? |

was it fully healed when you to it out? cause if it wasn't that coudl be why you have a scab n what not in there.
I have the bottom of my navel done too... I think the post attracks wierd things.. its kinda kreepy when I clean it. but its beacuse it rubs agaisnt my pants sum times... so perphaps its jsut dirt n shit liekwhat happens with mine. |

No rubbing alcohol whatsoever, that does an okay job of cleaning, but it overdries and hampers your body's ability to reproduce healthy skin cells.
Anyways, the reason that your navel is still funky after 6 months is because you don't use your bellybutton for any pratical/daily purpose, so your body's healing energy doesn't exactly give that area priority (not like it would say, your tongue, which you use for many things). Try to get a cup, fill it with water as hot as you can stand and about 1-2 teaspoons of epsom salts and turn the cup upside down on your navel area. I'd reccomend trying to do it for 20-30 minutes every day or two. This will draw whatever is still irritating the area right out. And don't touch! Don't touch it with your dirty dirty fingers. Anyways, any more questions feel free to ask, I worked in a piercing shop for two years and I've seen a lot of it :P |

i have the top of mine pierced twice, side by side. i have several other piercings elsewhere that healed wonderfully and quickly, but not so with the navel. a year and eight months later and it heals. several infections, one of them ripped a bit, they even bled. (and i know how serious of an offence that is.) i was always taught to NEVER take jewlery out and let things heal over when the wound is infected because it can cause the infection to seal up inside just as yours did. perhaps some antibiotics from your doc would be advisable if the infection is bad enough. |
