It's a somewhat useful thing to know, but there's other ways to figure out that kind of stuff.. PM the promoter if it's a big deal.

But ask any promoter you know... if they want a CRAPton of people calling them asking then when so and so is playing...

its not fun. thats why to post it equals good.

edit to add: i mean does anyone think these forums are gonna have more than 2 threads a month?

we need more subsections of forums. how come we don't have a Lounge-Chill with the Lounge? i'd like to see a over 21 section. i'd also like to see a chronical subsection based solely on hash. also, please make a seperate xbox forum, because i don't want any of my xbox related threads to be touching a playstation thread.

well pretty much, I would consider there alot of cletus in the "scene"

i'm assuming you mean the promoters, but how else should they react?

they come back one day, can't post, and find out their being charged money.

i'm all for recouping costs, but you guys did it cletus styles. any business that ups the price significantly without notice is pretty mickey mouse. unless that's what you were going for, some shock and awe.

and save the "it costs this and that to run this site" we all know it ain't free. but it's also your CHOICE. so if it's prohibitive to run the site, then shut the mofo down.

*and for the non promoters, the fact is you say you wanna make this site streamline/professional, but it looks cluttered as hell. i mean it's like you're making sections for the sake of making sections. ie: gaming guru's worked out well, seeing how hard it was to sort them out in flicks and joysticks.

*final thing. save your stupid "hot karl all you do is flame shit." it's tired. i flame because people say stupid shit. i also flame because people whine about it. and i'm just sayin what's on my mind regarding whatever subject. so sorry i'm not all plur and hugz.

You are completely incorrect in assuming I meant "promoters" specifically. The promoters putting shows out there currently in Vancouver are great people, most who I consider solid friends. I'm not familiar with your relationship to the individuals behind these shows, but nor are you of mine. Be more careful of what you assume. Back to the comment, I was leaning more to the percent of hundreds (if not thousands) of people I have cross paths with over my past five years.

See your only real foil is with the lack of communication given before such switch was flicked. This is half true. We have noted in many posts and threads over the past few months changes were forthcoming, still specific outlines were not given.

As for "they come back one day, can't post, and find out their being charged money." You must be able to see they are in no means being charged money to post events. Active threads were closed, but not in return of payment. Fnk's open arms in features were just cutback.

The calendar is a much smarter (non-cletus) FREE way of organizing promotional events. Companies cannot pump their show harder then others via "new post" attention. Nor can they remain near the top (above others) in the forumdisplay. They have their date and thats where they stay. AT NO COST.

Now, if they choose to buy into a $20/m contract for that month they receive our promotional "tools" on their event thread. This is a system Fnk should have implemented from the start. We didn't so in turn the EKG meter will shake for a couple weeks and stable once everyone understands the changes that were made.
