It's all about the driver.... The provincial government is pretty stupid. It takes about 30 days to get your motorcycle license unlike a car that takes a year now days. You'd think that they would make the motorcycle licensing alot more strict considering first there on 2 wheels and the bikes that are out there are just as fast as a ferrari. Infact I have a friend who owns a gsxr 1100 and he brought it down to mission raceway. The whole bike is stock and he ended up doing 10 seconds in a quarter mile easily.
They've actually made the testing alot more easily. They have you go around cones and shit like that in a parking lot and then your allowed to drive the bike in the city where they would "expect" you to drive at 50 km/h... right like thats going to happen. When was the last time you saw a motorcyclist that had an L or an N somewhere on there bike? I've never seen one yet and supposively any new motorcyclists are supposed to have oen during learning stages and etc..... You end up having these kids who end up getting a motorcycle license simply because they only got 1 thing on there mine which is speed. There will be more deaths that will occur and ya when someone gets into motorcycle accident they are normally scattered to piece's all over a road. I've seen it numerously with my own eyes. Right now I going to get my motorcycle's license but I'm not a "crotch rocket" type of fanatic. Instead I plan on getting a custom v-star hopfully a 97 model and work on it. They kinda look like harley's... sound like harley's but are low maintenance. And nope not into the speed at all, the bike is not made for it its simply made for the ride. My dad on the other half will be getting a honda goldwing so what we wanna do some day is actually cruise across canada...
But ya what it all comes down to is the driver. They want to drive those things fast then they simply want to die.
