Toaster oven's

Oh my gawd...I almost freeking just had a heart attack. I was making some eggo's cause I was hungry and I was talking to my friend that's at my house, and she goes to take out the eggo's cause she thought they were done and BAM flames came out of the tosater oven...I didnt' know what to do at first I started blowing trying to make it go out, then I grabed the baking soda...thank gawd for baking soda...I threw a ton of that on there and out when the fire...Im jsut so glad I didnt set the whole kitchen on fire, it scared the CRAP out of me. I dont think I'll ever use the toaster oven ever again.

don't blame all toaster ovens on your toaster oven's mistake.

Did you put them in for too long? Were they too close to the Element? These are things to consider when using one of those gadgets. I've made many an Eggo with no incident in them before.

oooorrrr pay attention when you are making food?

the first thing you are supposed to do is unplug the appliance. not blow on it and more likely than not make the flames bigger

maybe there was crumb buildup! my toaster has a removable crumb tray, i love that lil guy.

Don't make any rash decisions..you might regret retiring the toaster oven. I'm not too sure what I'd do without my trusty oven?

I feel your pain. I have to do ALL my baking in a toaster oven :(

that sucks.

but life can go on without toaster ovens, a very easy way to avoid flames is to simply get a "toaster", without the oven part. I know toaster ovens are handy for some things (especially tuna melts... awww yah)... but fire bad.

That's how it was for me too...but now I dont even have that.

we dont have a toaster...we havn't had one for year's, my parents were going to buy a new one but never got around to it cause we had the toaster over. Now we have neither...no more toast for me:(

that's the problem with food in general though, no combustion then no supporting animal life.

well intake, if it makes you feel any better, i have a very nice toaster.
