Weddings

SUCK

Especially when you dont know anyone.

Today I am at a wedding.. A beautiful wedding. Everyone I know in that wedding (including my bf) are in the wedding party. So, when the ceremony ends.. theres 3 hours before the reception starts..hmm. The wedding party will go off in there limos and do wedding party things.. Most people are going to a pub for lunch..not me though..because I dont know anyone!!

I dont know if I should be angry at myself for not getting to know more of my bf's friends in the past two years..(and they probably all think I am a snob) or the fact that most of them are bitchy and rude.. hmmm

So I decided to come home (30 min drive home) and sit on fnk for 2 hours. =/

Weddings are meant to be sacred and holy. You shouldn't be worrying about not knowing anybody (stangers are friends you haven't met yet :)). Also you shouldn't be so concerned with alcohol at the reception. Alcoholism is a terrible disease.

Those DO NOT exsist!!! Do they????

It was an open fucking bar!! They had $9000 worth of alcohol.. I did get pretty buzzed in the beginning and then sobered up after dinner because I decided I wanted to drive my car home ;D

my cousin got married at 18... and she had no alcohol at her wedding because she was underage. my dad and i were pissed. we tried getting into a wedding that was happening at the other side of the building (the recepetion was at caribou college in kamloops) but we got busted by my mom.

some weddings can use a little spark like alcohol. especailly ones where youre supposed to be in the wedding party, but your cousin who you grew up with like a sister, decides that you dont "uphold her beliefes or what she wants her wedding to be about" riiiiiiiiiiiight. i was a little bitter, still am.
p.s. beliefes meaning i have pre-marital sex....

Like the rest of you, I can't stand weddings.
Hate them!

But, you know what makes me wanna yell at people more than anything?

When I hear people say, "It's _THEIR_ day!", referring to the bride and groom.

BULLSHIT!!!!

It's anything BUT their day!

That day is for everyone else to come and get fed and (hopefully) drunk on the wedding party's tab!

The bride and groom are hardly ever together, because they're too busy glad-handing everyone and making sure everyone's whims are met and that everyone's happy.

~hurls, a la Team America-style~

What a load of rot!

Frosty
(more people should elope)

It's not so much snobby as it is disrespectful in my opinion. The wedding isn't about you, it's about celebrating the union of two people. Yeah weddings generally suck and they're pretty boring most the times, but who cares, you see these people what - once in a blue moon? I don't think it's too much to ask for you to be at least somewhat social and give the bride and groom some respect as a guest to their special occassion.

If you read my post correctly.. I didnt disrespect the bride and groom.. I decided not to go to a pub before the reception with a bunch of bad attitude bitches and guys that were hammered before they even made it to dinner. Obviously if it was something for the bride and groom.. I would have attended ;D
