hmm, ive had mine done for about a year also. i hardly ever wear it anymore tho, put it in once every few days to make sure it doesnt grow over, but mine hasnt started to close over at all, even if i leav it for a few days.
yours will probebly close over if youleave it a while longer.

Yeah I had my monroe done... it's like to the side of my upper lip... and I had it for about a year and I took it out and the inside healed but the outside didn't and you can still see a hole... I asked the piercing place and they said if you put polysporn on it it should heal properly

one of my brothers ex's had a labret done ages ago, took it out and when i knew her, she had had it out for 5 years and it still hadnt healed on the outside.
talk to your peircer, im sure they'll know and have some advice on how to heal it up. sometimes the body can need a little extra kick in the butt when it comes to healing up right.

cocoa butter.. you can get it at any health store or anything like that.. its also good for scarring and stretch marks.. you can also try vitamin E oil.. that helps with healing.. or you can do it the weird way and open it back up again and let it re-heal haha.

However most piercers will probably tell you not to use polysporin.

Cocoa butter and vitamin E will help lessen the scar. I don't know about helping it to close up persay though. The best thing to do is to ask your piercer and not a rave message board because we can only give you "maybes". But at least you have a good idea of what to do:)

But don't they tell us NOT to use Polysporin when we get them pierced? hmm. Maybe I'm getting things confused. Polysporin is bad during healing process....not so bad when closing up is happening? I don't know.

All I know is Vitamin E and/or cocoa butter is good for the scars.
