i was on the phone with this idiot for 3 mins and i have again been put on hold

and now i get to send my ipod to the manufacture for 4 - 6 weeks while they decide wether its broken enuff to replace it with a new one

I bought an IPOD. it still works. but im wondering, what is usually the first thing to break?

- hard-drive?
- jogwheel/ buttons?
- display
- battery

if you have a harddrive ipod, don't drop it. That's where most of the issues come from. Although i read a review where they took a new iPod Nano, droped it from like 8 feet, dropped it while running, dropped it from a moving car, ran over the device with a car (twice!) and it still played music.

I have a mini. does it use solid state memory ? or does it use a mechanical hd? At work, i deal with mechanical CF hd's alot and find them to be pretty breakable.

jogwheel, display and battery were all the first to go on my mini

nano is pure flash memory.

i think the minis are gonna be gone very soon.

they seem to break down the easiest... gotta add the various hardware problems.. plus theyre the ugliest of the ipods.
