When your boss tells you the day before you're supposed to DJ your biggest gig of the year that he'll need you to stay late that night so that you can be an interim supervisor.

And I can't exactly blow him off either, because I want to apply for the permanent sup position and this would look really good on the application.

The way I figure, I've known about this thing for like a month now, and the fact that they're dropping it on me less than 48 hours before (they still haven't talked to me about it) means I can't back out now.

Line I'm going to use: "Yes, I know you guys are the ones giving me money, but if this job for me was really about the money I would have accepted that job Stream offered me for $15/hour three months ago."

I think that'll rack up the boss-points....

I'll be able to handle it I think. Provided they actually do talk to me about it... my direct supervisor gave me a heads up about it yesterday...

DJing later's not an exceptionally feasable option, as I think they want me to stay till midnight, which means I show up at the club at about 1, which means I play like 4 records and that's it (we tag off two-by-twos for the end of the night, and the guest DJ has their 45min-1hour set somewhere through the night...).

Well, it's a non-issue now... turns out they didn't need me to change my shifts at all! So now I'm the interim sup AND I can hit up Big Trouble early on in the evening tonight. So everybody wins!
