i love it when people try to treat it as if basic freedom of speech laws don't apply to those who choose not to vote.
i say: fuck you. if i choose not to vote that's a valid legal decision, and none of my rights are hampered by such a decision. so tell me all you want that i have no right to complain, i'll keep complaining... just because you have some twisted perception of what my rights are isn't going to make me any more complacent in decisions to vote.
for the record, i did want to vote in this election but unfortunately nobody seems to want to send my bills to my house, instead keep sending them to my parents', and so i have no proof that i live where i live. i could have voted in my parents' riding, but a) that's not my riding so i don't see why i should be voting there and b) i don't live there so i couldn't get there come election day.
but there have been plenty of elections where i've intentionally taken a stance of non-partisanship. likewise, by your logic, if you voted for the winning party you also have no right to complain, because you voted them in! so basically you're saying that a vast majority of canadians have no right to bitch about politics. sorry, but that's still bullshit. people are going to complain no matter what you think is 'right'.
