graf artists

I have alot of respect for real artists who manage to paint giant murals and interesting absract words on the sides of abandon buildings. The people I have zero tolerance for is those self proclaimed artists who manage to find a piece of private property and throw up a 30 second effort that no one really benefits from. Art is one thing but vandalism is another. I understand the person who painted this "work of art" is probably a surrey teen that is obviously uneducated as to why people use graffitti as a way of expressing themselves. Or maybe i am the one that needs the educating? I don't know. what I do know is that my family has worked hard over the past 45 years to build a respectable business. My grandfather built the original store in 1964 and maintained it until he was unable to do so. Now it is mine and the rest of my family's duty to maintain it. I mop the floors and clean the windows and probably will until I am unable to do so. This vandalism shows complete disregard for my family's continuous effort to support and respect the community around us. To those "real" artists much respect and do your best to educate those lost souls who think painting something like this will actually give them some kind of street credit when in actuality it will be painted over before anyone else can see it.

I actually agree with you this is the reason i rarely tag any more and just concentrate on trains and spots that are not personal property out of respect for people like yourself. Just be thankful it wasn't a glass eater you can't wash that shit off you have to replace the whole window which can be expensive as you probably already know.

i totally agree. alot of the shit i see on walls is lame work with no artistry to it what so ever. shit looks worse than most high school kid's notebook doodles.
Those kids might as well be breaking windows or starting garbage can fires if thats what they call grafitti.

Unfortuatley graffiti is becoming trendy do to graff designs used for commercial purpose and thing like that stupid "Mark Ecko's Getting Up" game. So there will be an increase in shitty tags all over the place even though street graffiti is down 74% then it was 5 years ago.

I hate graffiti.
