Dr's Chicken Scratch
Why is it that...
the people responsible for writing REALLY important information down, have the messiest, most illegible writing ever? I've spent the last 3 hours trying to figure out it says "brazil nuts" on my list of allergies. That's KINDA important guy! And I can decode children's invented spelling in their emergent writing. Geez. *big sigh* |

Awwwww. Well, if you have to guess, is it possible to call tomorrow and see if you are right? It does seem important.
That is really frustrating tho...it happends to me all the time, and you can understand my frustration when they actually write the wrong thing down and you have to go all the way back and get it changed. Hugssss. <3 |

And T, I'm sure it's brazil nuts. I remembered later what he said and it fit the scribble. Gah. |

someone once told me (i think that it was a nurse) that anything form/paper a doctor fills out is considered a 'legal document' and if there are spelling mistakes on a 'legal documnet' it becomes null invoid....
i think that is not true though : S |

hahaha, I know first hand how frustrating it can be to read physician's orders!!
but I dunno.. I think if you go to med school for all those years, you pick up the skill of being able to write notes very fast. perhaps that's why? and part of the reason why pharmacists appear so good at reading them is probably because they're familiar with the medications, hence making it easier to interpret what is written. and yes, if they're not sure what is written, they are required to clarify with the physician who made the order. |
