I like the Peppers. alot:
but the new video was soo disrespectiful. Its ok to dress like bands, for fun or whatever. but not Kurt Cobain: and not that acustic concert. it wasn't done tasefully
The whole video was just nasty and mean.

Why would it be an insult to dress like Cobaine? Anthony Kiedis was good friends with him. He wrote the song Tearjerker for Cobaine.

I guess it was in the context. the whole thing seemed to be making fun of the other bands. it seemed far to.. mocking.

if he wanted to honor/maybe he should have cut in images of them together/ or cuts of the concert.

I saw the video as a tribute more than a mockery. You have to take into account that the Chili Peppers are notorious for their sense of humour. And besides, if good friends of Cobaine's don't find it offensive, why should fans that only knew the guy through his music?

/I saw it again: and listened to the Lyrics as hes dressed like Kirt. and the candle blowing out.

I think your right it is more of a tribute: its just confusing in between the joke takes: I still think it would have been better without it.

The lyric at that moment in the video is "gone too fast" and the candle blows out...."it's better to burn out than fade away" was a line from cobains suicide letter. Symbolic imagery or what ?

Cobain and kiedis weren't good friends ...they were aquaintances , fighting the same addiction, thats where kiedis felt the connection. Ak explains their encounters in his bio.....it's a good read.

when I first saw it, it just made me so upset. but as I see it over now, its not as bad. it just bugged me.
It still bugs me.
but I can see he ment well. where my first thoughts were toatal disrespect.

As well as a line from Neil Young's song "My My, Hey Hey." As much as I like Nirvana, I hate how he gets all the credit for such a great lyric when Young wrote it well before he died.

the video is a homage to all the genre's and bands of the past.

its a brialliant fucking video.

I remember once mad TV ep. where they did Love and Cobain.
and I got just as mad.
I guess its a touchy subject.. and I only see nagitive when they were only trying to be respectful.

I saw it again.. they actualy did him well... at first glance you wouldnt know it wasn't....

I'm not really sure It should have been in the video.. but i'm willing to take back what I said about it being mean.
