i've never heard alla spin so im neutral.
but anyone who cant (at the very least) beatmatch doesnt deserve gigs out. Not because there is no potential, but a crowd shouldnt have to feel like theyre at amateur night when they probably had to pay a cover. I would be choked. |

really.. beat matching records and mixing only takes about 3 months to learn.
Dnb is pretty advanced to get some of those quick mixes. You could be spinning for 10 years and still not know how to mix dnb.. Or you could be spinning for 6 months and know how to. Expirience means nothing, its how you use your records to your advantage. |

exactly.
ive never owned my own tables. but learned how to spin my buddy's dnb records after a few months of practice. beatmatching is probably one of the easier things to a mix, it doesnt take creativity or originality to beatmatch, its just a technical trick anyone can pickup . edit:outposted |

What bugs me are DJ's who claim to spin certain genres or styles, but DONT!?! You should be able to through down at least a good 1-2 hours worth of the genre/style before you claim to spin it.
DJ's trying to claim their years of spining is so vage. Personaly I dont make a big deal about it. Some dj's play hours every day where other barly touch their records once a week. Then some are out playing every weekend where some barly play out a few times a year. However really in Alla's case she should probly just say she's been spinning for 2 years instead of 7. Copping her out was a bit much... I mean any person reading that bio would easy figure out that she claims to spin 7 yeras but bought her decks in 2005 and its 2006??? holly molly this is sure a fnk shit storm.
lol...props to egor for stirrin the shit up but kinda shady ya gotta do it by attacking someone, but you do have a point. this scene is litterd with people fronting this and fronting that. its all such a big show. alot of people seem so weak willed and desperate for a rep or image or status.....personally i find it draining when i come across these types of people. after a SOLID 7 years of partying and attending dnb nites and half assed spinning in my room (lol) im am more certain of this than ever. |

I remember DJ Ash that Azim brought into Simple several years ago. It was claimed that he was the youngest DJ out there. He didn't make one mix. His manager, also his mother did a great job of promoting him. |

Their talent. Their demeanor. How much they bitch about their time slot. What they act like on the boards. In a sense, don't bite the hand that feed you. I see and hear a lot of that from DJ's. |

I've been spinning trance for 20 years.
IT'S TROO! Learning to beatmatch is easy. I was able to do it the third time I touched decks. Learning to beatmach CONSISTANTLY is an entirely different story. And no matter how good you get, you can always have an off night. Frankly, I don't get what the big deal is about beatmatching anyways. The only people that really notice minor trainwrecks are DJs anyways. People in general don't care about technical skill as long as they're enjoying the music being played. That being said, a 3-minute-long trainwreck doesn't exactly get people into the music, know what I'm saying? |

^ I was wondering the same thing.

You don't need to be perfect, just catch yourself quickly enough to make it sound as close to it as possible. That's why it's Live! |

The thing I don’t understand is why people front to get bookings in the first place, once you get up there it doesn’t matter what your resume looks like if you can’t walk the walk people are going to know, your basically shooting yourself in the foot. I guess it depends on the crowd too, maybe some crowds are too fucking high/n00b or whatever to know the difference…. Meh…
I’ve seen some people who should not be playing out get re-booked after playing terrible sets simply because of who they are and who they know. The thing I ask myself is “don’t they know? Don’t they realize they suck? Do they care?, I dunno I just started playing out myself and im extremely critical with myself, probably too much, If I suck, I know I suck, Id rather not play then make a fool out of myself. Anything more derogatory gets you one warning, and that is it. I shouldn't even give one warning, cause it is so incredibly rude and disrespectful, but I slip up now and again too. |

Business is business. You wouldn't go up to your boss and tell them he was a pud at work. Why would you do that to the promoter who has been gracious enough to book you? It is the RIN(raver information network) and no matter who you think is keeping your secret, they aren't. I hear everything. |

lol@RIN
You wouldn't call your Boss a Pud at work. Just like I'm sure most DJs wouldn't mouth you off at your Show. Really, you can only hold Locals hostage to the "RIN"... if say DJ Friction talks shit about a Promoter here, he most likely wouldn't be too saddened if you didn't Book him again. |
