try switching shampoo, kat.
most generic shampoos have crap in them that don't maintain color worth a damn, plus they don't have special nutrients and all that crap to protect your color against hard water. go for something at the salon, but use common sense, dont get taken to the cleaners.

i could have done it for free ur supose to use ash blond. go get a light ash blond and go over it or get silver brights and put it on ur hair where its been lightened

Kat, I use 2 products on my hair that i can't live without!
Try: 1) a shampoo called "SILVER" by AG... it's about 10-15 bucks and it lasts a long time, it takes the brassy/orangey tones out of your blonde streaks!! and it doesn't affect the other colors in your hair. 2) Ask your stylist to get you "GOLDWELL - 10V" hair solution. You use this once every 2 weeks or so - you put it on after you shampoo in the shower, you leave it in for 10 minutes, rinse, then condition as usual. It costs about 20 bucks a bottle. It's like a purple mousse that you apply to the highlights. It's my life saver!! Try these! I'd go with the "Silver" shampoo first before going with the 10V. <3

^ it was worth it. The girl that does my hair is AMAZING and she hooks me up like crazy on products. So i dont mind paying. That cost included her tip.
She hooked me up with some sick styling products and a new flat iron for half price (150. reg 295)

you like silver by AG? try Shimmer Lights by Clairol Professional, I buy them directly from a hairdressing wholesaler and they're like 11.95 a bottle, get the shampoo and conditioner. They kick ass. I also use catwalk by tigis oatmeal and honey and my hairdresser told me to apply the shimmer lights, let it sit, apply the tigi, wash it out, then do the same with the conditioners. If your on a budget buy the Paul Mitchell (from salons only!!) Colour Care for Platinum blonde streaks, it works really well and its pretty cheap. AG i find only works for a short while and then starts leaving a purple hue.

Kat from the pictures your hair does look amazing :) So I totally owe you an apology saying that you can't go from black to blonde b/c I didn't know that you could. It's crazy the blond went so white. Which hair dresser do you go too? I'm looking for a new one.

Her name is Monika. I love her, shes amazing. Its all about this shampoo that she gave me ..... anyways, dont worry about it hun, I didnt think it was possible either?!
Im going in a couple weeks to get my hair done again. we should have piericng and hair done day?

An amazing product I use to maintain my highlights and not have them look brassy is 'colour glow - live blond'
It's great because the purple counteracts with any brassy hues and it'll keep the blond looking awesome. It also conditions your hair and restores its natural condition
