and by "any genre" does that go outside the realm of EDM? and...I'm curious as to what you plan to do with them.

I'll propose $20-$30 for a shoe box full depending on what I got I suppose?

The physical quality of the tapes isn't big deal. They don't have to be original tapes.. recordings are fine. Content-wise, I'd pay more for:

- Classical (classic or comtemporary)
- Jazz/fusion jazz
- 70's rock
- latin american (flamenco, salsa)
- soul/funk/blues
- early electronica

I plan on extracting all the tape so that I can connect them end-to-end in hopes of making it long enough to reach around the circumference of the Earth.

hehe, what I really want them for is sampling. I've recently realized the greatness of sampling and would much rather sample from old cassettes than sample cd's/soulseek/etc.

I don't really care if the audio quality is shit, in fact quality degradation is desired.

Thanks everyone! I'll keep my eye on this thread. Send me a P.M if you have anything and want to work out a fair price.

wouldn't you be better off hitting up garage sales and buying bucketloads of old vinyl for cheap prices?
