FNK Vinyl Trade/Swap
Me n a bunch of my comrades have been kicking around this idea for a while, so this is just a heads up about a future event (at least a month away, possibly more, date undetermined)
We will be holding a vinyl swap meet for collectors/ djs/ those beginning djing. Vinyl should be cheap, and those with huge amounts of unwanted wax like me can have a chance of giving some good homes to some neglected childr... i mean vinyl. it wont cost anything. itll probably be held at someones home, unless lots of people confirm they are comming. people can just bring crates, or checkbooks :P Some Djs will be getting individual invites, but it will be pretty much open to everyone, so keep your eyes peeled for a post in the events section. I started in the classified because if u r looking for wax, u came here, right? If you want to be involved email me at [email protected]

i dont know if its the type of thing any of u guys would go to, but on march 20th there's a record trading thing at below the belt on robson or metrotown.... you bring ure old/bad records drop it off and grab other records type of deal. its sponsored by diesel... i picked up a flyer on it a few days ago..thought it would be appropriate for this thread.

I have had a very positive response from the dj community about this event, so im going to go ahead and plan it. Kraig, Mirka, Tazix, Luna, Klockwise, Detn8r, Thanatos, and many other djs of varying styles are all interested in popping by, and thats just the short list. Everyone has vinyl they want to sell or trade away.
we have about half the equipment we need, but it shouldnt be hard to get the rest ( i figure at list 4-6 'listening booths' should be needed.) all im deciding on now is location and date. Advertising will be via internet/email and word of mouth due to the fact that you cant exactly advertise this with flyers in a record store... its a definite conflict of interest. ill keep you all posted on how its progressing, then make a final official post. Question: what day of the week>? Also, if you have a space appropriate for this event you are willing to let us use, pm me. This is non-profit, so i cant afford to actually rent a venue. This event is 100% free.

do it on a saturday... i got like very little vinyl, not enough to trade, got money to trade tho, i'm sure thats good enough for most people tho...its my only guaranteed day off. i need some vinyl to get my collection growing. i already got a list of stuff i wanna get off of ya as it is. remind me to talk to u about them
