Akin to Sufjan Stevens?
Hello.
I was hoping for suggestions on music similar to that of Sufjan Stevens. i have been listening to his tunes all semester and now i need some different stuff as background noise. melodic, ambient type music preferred, vocals not required. Good study music, so nothing banging or too heavy please. Thanks in advance. Mike ps: welcome back to the rain clouds. |

!If I had known I would have asked you if you wanted a ticket to last night's show!..A friend of mine was trying to get rid of her's for 20.
..that is if you didn't go yourself. (I hope you did) :) In terms of similarities to Sufjan.. Elliott Smith definitely.. Mark David Ashworth..(still don’t know why people don’t know about this guy) Jose Gonzalez Im not sure if your big on female vocalists..but Catherine Feeny.....as I am also convinced that her and Jose Gonzalez should get married...and make music forever. There's a few more I cant think of right now, but I think you might like Red Sparowes.... and Love and Wolves (local)..beautiful band..but their myspace page..is one of those pages..where it sounds NOTHING like the band..besides..id suggest see them live...super chill guys...talent pulsates the walls...amazing amazing live... I’ve been feeling a lot of Tommy Guerrero (yes also the former skate pro).. And John Frusciante's solo stuff latley.. Perhaps you will too? or just come into my work and I’ll help you find something! haha.. |

I didn't even know he was here. he makes beautiful music, it sounds like the kind of stuff i would like when travelling. positive, upbeat and not too distracting for others crammed into a small bus:P
thanks for the info Sidekick and Rayeine, i am looking for a few of those folks as i type. |
