Otis Sells All Dance Records 1/2 Price
well it's sad but Otis is not gonna be selling dance records anymore or hip hop for that matter. Was in there today and there is alot of stuff that is just great and guess what there all half off. So you know that 2 Live Crew - pop that pussy tune that you wanted well shit it's like 5 bucks.
So get down there while the pickins are good cause everything must go. I'm a bit sad tho cause I loved diggin at Otis but alas cause of all the downloading buying used vinyl just isn't what it used to be in this town I guess shame really cause I still 100% support vinyl unless there is no other way to get a tune. for all who don't know Otis is on Davie Street half a block East of Bute look for the crates outside peace |

^ space limitations is my guess - i'm thinking the rock and collectables market is overtaking the DJ market with such widely available digital options (practically every hiphop dj uses serato nowadays) that he's just cuttign his losses with the dance/hiphop tracks and focusing on what sells...

remix carries used? are you sure about that? anyways at Boomtown we have a huge used selection, especially for dnb. quite a bit on the shelf and even more yet to be shelved. too bad about otis ditching the dance, but honestly their selection for that stuff has been crap for quite a while now. it's still my favorite place to dig for rock, soul & other oldies. |

I say buy vinyl not mp3's and if you say it's expensive maybe you should pick a different hobby or just make your own tunes :P hehe |

they were having one of their famous $2 sales this past weekend, my bf and I spent maybe an hour there..they did have some rap/hip hop included in the sale but it was a lot of whack shit (ie ja rule singles that never made the charts, etc.) I only managed to score one record, which is a best of tony bennett (sorry, but I love tony! haha), some good gems in the sale stuff especially if you dig 80s or classic rock.
the only good rap/hip hop records they had there were regular priced. Some were good singles, just really not worth the price they were asking for some of them. |
