No, not at all, I was sceptical til I saw him play... im not too surpsied hes still on top. He knows what the people want... REGARDLESS his choice of genre, he can work around it. I was in London at the awards (just got back like 1 hour ago haha) and the set he played after his award announcement, well.. lets just say you will never hear a set like that from him for a LONG LONG time, he outplayed Sander Van Doorn and Flash Brothers imo...
My highlight was when he just started burning the floor with electro tunes. |

Hehe. Tons of trancecrackers, one of the few groups that actually cares about these results (and even then it's half and half -depends entirely if you're into epic uplifting Dutch supersaw breakdown/build trance) are crying foul this year.
Hardly any of them know who DJ Dan is, and figure it's a scam. |

Djmag's main market is trance based from what I was told from a few people, one of which is a Mix Mag reporter that I spoke with. So with a voting system, im not too surprised that more than half of the artists on the top100 are playing some form of trance. The magazine caters to breaks and house aswell but in the end trance gets the numbers. Dj Dan got huge crowd reaction from what I remember. Along with Andy C and Stanton Warriors.
Overall the greatest night ever. |
