most annoying thing a dj can do when spinning
- stop after every track to talk. i didn't come to hear you talk i came to hear you spin so shut it and spin bitch! :182:
- play house music in the chillroom. bad idea, it is just wrong. - come up to you after they've finished their set and go on and on and on and on and on about every little detail about their set and how great they think they are. you are not god, you are a dj. |

I hate it when DJ's put no enthesium into there set. At heat, Sharaz was pumping his fast and bouncing to the music. That is what a DJ is supposed to do. Hype the crowd up. If a DJ can't do that, they sux.
Oh yeah, for DJ's who just leave after there set and dont give fans the time of day, that too also suxs. If your britney spears, I can understand why you would run, cuz you would get swarmed, but if your an electronica DJ. Take a a few minutes to sign a few autographs, take a few pictures and show some respect to the people who make you popular. |

House music is great in chill rooms like vesperstina mentioned.
And like the first post said 4mula they are not gods why do you need their autographs some djs have busy scedules and are booked throughout the night. Pumping your fist and hyping the crowd doesnt make you a great dj however knowing how to mix and pumping your fist may do.. To me Djs that have big egos get to me. |

I hate it when a dj plays an all Anthem set!!!! We all know what the anthems are and i think that almost any dj can get those tracks, but why play them all in a row?? Shit!!! Now its good to hear a good anthem here and there, but anthem after anthem is a bit ridiculus not to mention boring!!!

sorry there but i couldnt disagree with you more. As a DJ, I see most of the guys jumping up and down like monkeys really annoying cuz when it comes down to the music theyre producing, it usually isnt that great. When you watch a DJ, its not all about what kinda physical show he or she can put on. What if DJ Rap threw off her shirt and flashed her tits to the crowd.... i'd love it, but it doesnt make her a good DJ. But like you just said, shes hyping up the crowd... everyone would love it! She must be a really damn good DJ doing her job too eh? psh As for DJ Flave, hes an incredible DJ and I have alot of respect for the guy. I see him more as a DJ who knows how to pump up the crowd with "crazy shit" LIVE rather than amazing music. And when i'm talking crazy shit, i mean stuff like jumping up and down, fucking with the sampler, cutting back n forth into other tracks, scratching.. wow hypes the crowd up. but i could never listen to a mix by him at home or on my walkman. figure that one out i'm not gonna bother explaining it Oh yeah, for DJ's who just leave after there set and dont give fans the time of day, that too also suxs. K-pryde - I agree, when you go to see a DJ, your not there to see a circus act but to hear them play music. However, there are DJ's who show no emotion. It's like they dont even want to play.
Flave is an amazing DJ. Thank god AgroDave books him a lot. |

also...... don't forget that it matters about the party that you're playing for and the time slot and the mood.......essentially a dj should read the crowd.
if you have an opening time slot with 3 kids in the room it's hard to get the *crowd* hype and you probably end up trying too hard........but at the same time if you go on at 3 and everybody's hyped and you look like a sausage on the decks then it;s obviously gonna affect everyone. think of it this way>>>>>>we all have sharaz's cd's, records, or his tracks downloaded we've heard what he's about>>>>>>so now we're excited too SEE what he's about.there needs to be some difference between practising in you're bedroom and presenting you're skills to a crowd. |
