Progressive House.
Ok, so I've been won over. I couldn't tell you the names of one prog house producer, or even any of the tracks I like but man, it's fucking great music.
Can't get enough of it. :) If anyone has any favourite mixes, producers, or tracks.. let me know. Last edited by tiedye; Jan 30, 07 at 03:57 AM. |

Well ebbo.. I have no idea what else to call it, but all the tracks I heard were deep, driving house with rolling basslines and extremely long, drawn out, and well, progressive structures.
It's the perfect genre of house music out there, as far as I'm concerned. I watched hardstylin send a dancefloor into overdrive this weekend like he just dropped a fat Noisia track. |

Ehhh, the only way I know its 'progressive' is if it says so on the sticker of the bar code. Well maybe Im exaggerating as I can sense a certain sound thats a little different than house... but progressive house is anything BUT progressive. However NO ONE has been able to describe exactly what progressive is compared to house/trance. Yours is probably the best yet :p |

Word, Prog House will always be my first love (so to speak). First time I heard a Sasha set from Miami 2002 I knew I found a type of sound I'd been looking for all my life in a way. It's all about the rolling basslines man, they get me everytime, hit you right though your chest and sooth your soul.
Some basic but good comps out there I would say are: Satoshi Tomiie - Nubreed 6 Lemon8 - Sanctuary Sessions Digweed - GU 18 LA Can't think of any other noteworthies atm... BTW IMO Prog House isnt really produced anymore, it's either Electro Prog or Minimal Prog these days. Last edited by PDivision; Jan 31, 07 at 12:18 AM. |

Ya, ebbo, I totally agree with you...
Sasha and Digweed are the first names that come to mind when I think Progressive. On another "Progressive" note....I've been eatting up Psy Progressive lately, Artists like Antix, Vibrasphere, Freq, Liquid Soul (one of my fav producers regardless), and Jay Selway and John C.'s Project, Zero Divide have been pumping out some quality stuff. Don't know what everyone else's take on the sub genre itself is, but if cool groovy bass lines, lots of fined tuned percussion, melodic leads, and psy-like influences are your thing, def check it out. |
