Lol this makes no sense

So decided to practice on the decks here and for the second time in a row I was able to mix dnb better then I can with electro or progressive..... makes absolutely no sense what so ever here... Keep in mind however when I first picked up the dnb I couldn't mix it worth shit so I started with electro and shortly after that I guess I trained my eat properly which probably explains what is going now.

weird, i never found mixing dnb any more difficult than the other edm genres.

just match the snares first, then tighten things up by matching the hi hats. easy as pie.

succesful mash-up sets, now that takes some serious practice.

hrm I don't cue the first beat by snare's because I find dnb and dubstep can essentially have snare's all over the place, so to start off by beatmatching by snare can have a high potential of just wrecking. I always find the first beat being the kick and just go from there. The pitch range however for most of the dnb I am finding is really small compared to house.

You're just starting to get the natural nack for your tracks you spin now mate. besides different BPM than electro and progressive.

sure it makes sence, lots of dnb tunes are close to the same bpm and most of them sounds alike.also you cant tell as much if your beatmatch is off compared to other genres. its prolly one of the easiest to mix

If you know the two songs being played it's ridiculously easy to tell when a dnb trainwreck is happening.

Because the beats are so fast and so crammed together, they fall out of sync a lot easier, so theoretically you can hear the derail a lot quicker and compensate.

Plus, with DnB, regardless of whether or not you're listening to snares specifically, you're generally avoiding listening to the bass and just mixing the highs, and I find that generally easier to do than trying to line up two very bass-centered tracks.

some very good points above.

i would never suggest cueing at a snare, unless it was the first sound of the track, but u gotta know that u gotta cue somewhere else.

i think duerr meant listen to the snares after the track is cued..

i dont always listen for the snares, although its an easy thing to beatmatch with if the snares from both tracks line up.
ebbodave has a good point in the last paragraph.

One thing to mention, you can cue off a snare, as long as you know to send it off on the two-beat instead of the one....

honestly think pretty much all EDM is easy to mix. It's what it's made for isn't it?
