Mixing Breaks!!!

For the love of god, can someone give me some tips on mixing breaks. This is pissing me off. I recorded myself mixing and it's fucking horrible.

I know a lot of people spin breaks and also post here (unlike ED.) :021: (Ie. Ryan, Lex, Lucy, Chigga, Michelle, Adam, Jason etc.)

I have a Technic's SH-DJ1200 Mixer with Mk2 to match it.

If possible, name two tracks, cuz explaing using text is kinda hard to understand.

Unknown to many is that I do spin breaks...

It's pretty easy... just count the beats, match up everything....

takes some getting use to, that's all

i found when starting out to mix that it is easier concentrating on mixing the snares rather than the bass drums...after you have got this instinct nailed you can then progress onto 'tightening up' mix by paying more attention on bass drums.

That's how I do it. Matching the snare. It feels weird now trying to match to the bass instead.

for sure, agreed. it's easier to match the snares than bass beats with breaks/ 2-step.

i honestly think breaks is easier than house to mix..
becuase if the beats are off its easier to get em to match, and its not as obvious when you trainwreck..

Mula... dude. Everyone here has some wicked tips and points. I am just learning myself.

Things to take outta those other messages that worked for me - the fucking new guy:

1.) Match the snare
2.) Learn how to counts bars/beats... if you don't do this then it just sucks ass. Seriously dude once you master counting, it will get to the point where you can just hear it. I find myself counting bars/beats in all different kinds of music as it differs when there is change over depending on the kinda music IE: breaks, house, trance, etc.

I had a huge advantage though by learning from some really good mixers -- Deliverance, Azim, Tazix... I learn more everyday.
