Fluid vs Precise vs Kyomi..help?
Okay, at first, we intented to have 3 of Vancouver best breakbeat djs battle to see who is the best in Vancouver. The tittle "the best" is too political; thus, we we are putting "the best" on hold, and pick 3 of the most solid breakbeats djs to battle for pride and money. The battle is: Fluid vs Precise vs Kyomi at One Summer Night 2 We chose these 3 because, in general, people says they are 3 of the top breakbeat djs in town and for the fact that they want to break each other legs just for the "I am better than you" claim. The winner walks away with $500 and a trophy stating championship. Here is where i need your help. All the djs told me that they want fair judging. ANy ideas on ways to judge the contest with out bias? HElP :0 Who do you think will win? I personally think Precise will. Richard One SUmmer Night 2- August 18th :025: :025: :025: |

Is the contest on Scratching, Mixing, making the crowd dance?
Like all contests there should be guidlines. When I judged snowboard contests for the Regional Fraser Valley we had a set of catorgories, a set of skills we were looking for. If you can scratch and can't mix (I'm not talking about anyone here) points should be given acordingly and catorgies should be worth more than others.(ie back flips compared to simple airs-snowbording). I personally think who else is better to judge the contest than some DJ's who have been around a while AND know what to look for. Not some kid who is blown away cuz someone scratched or played their favorite track while they were peaking. Top 3 Judge picks 1. SLIM-this guy has skills. Watch him next time. 2. CZECH-has played all over the world, seen hundreds of DJ's, I think he knows what to look for. 3. Noodles-toured around, playing for a longtime and well versed in his breaks and other genres. Rob |
