I agree, I could teach my Grandma how to beatmatch,,
There is so much more to DJing than beatmatching, I HATE PEOPLE WHO PLAY OUT AND ARE STILL SKETCHY WITH THIER BEATMATCHING /// >>>>If You Have To Focus on Beatmatching the whole time then wait to spin out, ok There are so many shity DJ's in van, that's why there is no Trance scene ne more, cause of people like Khan, who give DJing and Trance a bad name>>>> :Kam: :365: >>> |

Serotonin, no
making good music is the hard part,,, even if you are playing rare vinyl, you are just like every other DJ in this world,,, some one playing other people's music. Oh joy, my mp3 player can do that. Talking about mp3's, the 1337 nature of having the fat rare tracks is now out dated. And hell it all sounds the same as it comes out of the speakers, no matter what DJ play's it. |

finding tracks... blah... true again. its hard but hey who says u cant explore the available market and see what hidden gems are out there... or what filler tracks can be converted into sick tracks combined with the other ones.... theres so much you can do to spice up a track... use your mixing or skratchin skills! |

I agree with crazy dave on this one.
Producers should get much more respect than they do currently in our market. but theres a big difference between some "jerk ass master of the cross fade in and fade out dj", and someone actually, cutting-scratching-mixing-blending, etc and it takes some definate knowledge to know music well enough to program a set, be it a high school dance, drunken university party, or some big "rave" event. but your still some guy playing another dudes music in the end. |

Beat matching is not essential to being a good dj.
it is if you're a house dj or a dnb dj, or techno, progressive, whatever. But i think a dj who can play a cohesive eclectic set, bringing together disparate styles & elements, needs a far better grasp of programming and a way deeper knowledge of their records than someone who simply sticks to one easily mixable genre. playing a set like that might not involve any beat matching, as you could be dealing with a lot of different tempos. But there are other ways to creatively blend two records together. some of the best dj sets i've heard have involved very little beat matching. |

the djs can not effectively do his job playing the records he wants. He's go to buy and play the records the people are going to dance too. |
