hard house vs hard trance

ok, seriously.

does anyone out there actually know the difference between hard house and hard trance? or is it just me?

so many people seem to think i play hard house. and i dont. i play hard trance. i know the difference isnt night and day... but really...it cant be all that hard..can it?

so how would YOU describe the difference...

There is a difference between hard house and hard trance.

The beat count is different and the music buildups are not the same.

Hard house is faster and more 'energetic' to dance to.

Hard trance: Cosmic Gate around 140 bpm

everything above is definately true but all of the producers who would have been making hard house a a year and a half ago are now making hard trance
havent you noticed that guiys like od404 andy farley bk are all making what seems to me to be hard trtance, but different form the german hard trance, i guess the uk stuff still has more energy but they use the build ups and melodic brekadowns more

My brother is living in London right now and he says Hard Trance is absolutely huge over there. Guys like BK, Nick Sentience and Ed Real who used to be hardhouse jocks are now strictly spinning and producing hard trance. The main difference between hard house and hard trance IMO is that most hard house is total shit, whereas some hard trance is not =P

and in every single song there is the trance element.

so when i pitch up a hard trance record 5% it becomes hard house? speed has nothing to do with nothing IMHO.

To me hard trance has some substance to it. Hard house is just rangy circus music.

and i love dj's who say they play hard house/hard trance. Cause thier entire set is hard house. crazy muppets.

its good to see that some people know the difference. it just irks me when people think i play hard house. i want to hit them. i want them to choke on hard trance.
