The new shy fx...is it really *that* good?

call me a wet blanket. call me a party poopin' bitter un-fun dirty jibtek junglist...

but i really thought "dont wanna know" the BRAND NEW ROCK YOUR FACE SHY FX JUNGLE TRACK wasnt all that good. i dont even think it was that catchy, i cant remember the tune of it for the life of me right now.

they used the same samples from "shake ur body", the percussion set up and the piano tone are identical. and they're basically just repeating the same song, but with a different melody. the same thing was done with Barthezz - On The Move and Barthezz - Infected. part one and part 2 of the same song. while i loved On The move, Infected was not that great. at 3:13 of the track they even have a token "LATIN PIANO" line to complete the parody.

anyways, i thought "dont wanna know" was bland, cheesy, uninspiring and didnt have that bit of edge to it that made shake ur body so fun and ass kicking! if the jungle style drumbeat was a little less emphasized it could be any unoriginal bland top 40 rnb tune that i would be laughing at.

personally i would start laughing if i heard this tune played by a dj who saw himself as anything other than catering to mass marketing cheesy main room demand.

However, i havent heard it properly presented yet in a dj set yet, ive just seen the video (and i wont even get started as to how ridiculous i think the video is) so we will see...

its a great track

it may have hit the top of the charts and has gone mainstream but who cares. its got a catchy riff, and di's voice gets the dancefloor rockin and the ladies shakin their asses

i liked the beginning with skibadee and the big drum roll.... but this song was made to be a hit and its where it was intended to be... we dont need bitterness.. just enjoy the music

haha

im not bitter. im giving my opinion of the track. the fact that its mainstream doesnt bother me. i just think the track doenst have anything too special in it. its a clone. and i dont think it deserves all the hype that people seem to be giving it.

...IMO

^i thought the same when i first heard it, but hearing it loud a few times has almost changed my mind. It's a different twist on the shake ur body formula, and it has some ill bass drops & heavy drums. don't think i'll be playin it, but it definitely sounds good on a proper system.

Krusha will become famous soon enoughKrusha will become famous soon enough
cheese? yes

mainstream? yes

but this is what DnB needs to keep growing , getting a wider spectrum of people into it, thusforth pushing flexing never stopping

there is some serious sub action in this track that makes up for the 'shake ur body cookie mold'

Lets chdck out the entire Shy Fx album and then we'll see. If the entire album sounds like "Don't Wanna Know", then we have a problem.
